Vienna wins bid: World Congress of Surgery to be held in August
The "International Surgical Week" will offer surgeons from around 95 nations a platform to discuss scientific and clinical findings, new approaches and current developments from August 15 to 18 at congress center HOFBURG Vienna.
The congress, organized by the International Society of Surgery ISS/SIC, which has been in existence since 1902, its six integrated societies and five other participating societies, covers a broad spectrum of surgery. Up to 1,500 participants from around the world are expected to attend.
"After a two-year break due to the pandemic, I am particularly pleased that the 49th World Congress of Surgery is taking place in Vienna. Austrian surgeons thus have a top international congress right on their doorstep, covering many different fields of surgery," says national congress president Prof.Dr. Albert Tuchmann.
