43rd International Vienna Motor Symposium at HOFBURG Vienna

Accompanied by an exhibition with around 40 leading automotive and component companies, the latest technologies and developments were presented at the HOFBURG Vienna as part of the 43rd International Vienna Motor Symposium.

Whereas in the past two years the symposium could only be held as a two-day online conference due to the pandemic, this year the Austrian Society of Automotive Engineers (ÖVK) decided to hold a face-to-face event. In order to make the high-caliber lecture program accessible to an even wider audience, an additional "virtual event" with highlights, streaming content with discussions, videos, papers and CVs was created as a follow-up.

Two evening events, one of them in the form of a traditional Heurigen evening, were enjoyed by the total of almost 1,000 people for lively exchange and networking.

"In the past two years, we have realized how much we miss events like the International Vienna Motor Symposium as a "meet-and-greet event" and how important personal exchange is," says Prof. Bernhard Geringer, chairman of the Austrian Association of Automotive Engineers (ÖVK), which hosts the Motor Symposium.

The focus of the 43rd International Vienna Motor Symposium was on the topic of the energy transition, because "the industry is facing a colossal process of change," according to Univ.-Prof. Bernhard Geringer.
