Vienna to Welcome 17,000 Dermatology Experts in 2026
This acquisition marks a significant success for the Vienna Convention Bureau (VCB) at the Vienna Tourist Board and is the result of long-standing, continuous dialogue with the organizers. In trusted partnership with the Austria Center Vienna, the EADV Congress will be held in Vienna for the third time. Organized by the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology, the congress has a long history with Vienna, having first taken place in the city in 2007, and again in 2016. Scheduled editions in 2020 and 2021 were cancelled due to the pandemic. In autumn 2026, the EADV will return to Vienna for a four-day congress.
Norbert Kettner, CEO of the Vienna Tourist Board
“The return of the EADV Congress to Vienna in 2026 – for the third time – demonstrates the city’s continued success on the international stage and highlights the growing importance of Meeting Destination Vienna. Culture and congresses are among Vienna’s key strengths, and in the medical field in particular, almost every second congress in the city is health-related. Each year, the local meetings industry generates approximately one billion euros in value added, benefitting the entire Austrian economy. To ensure this remains the case, we are currently working on more than 250 active bids for events scheduled through to 2038.”
Kimberley Zimmermann, CEO European Academy of Dermatology & Venerology
“We are delighted to return to Vienna for the 2026 EADV Congress, which promises to bring together over 17,000 professionals from around the world. Vienna’s strong commitment to scientific excellence and its vibrant medical community make it an ideal host city for our congress. As Europe’s leading platform for dermatology and venereology, we look forward to fostering international collaboration, sharing groundbreaking research, and shaping the future of skin and sexual health care.“
Anita Paic, Head of the Vienna Convention Bureau
“Vienna’s success in hosting major international congresses is built on close and trusted collaboration between all local stakeholders – from the city and its institutions to venues and the scientific community. The return of the EADV Congress is a testament to this unique spirit of cooperation. We are honored to once again welcome the global dermatology community to Vienna and look forward to supporting the organizers in creating a truly memorable and impactful event.”
