Sustainable Events in Vienna: Your Social Contribution
Below you will find a selection of potential partners. There are many more organizations in Vienna doing valuable work and offering opportunities for collaboration.
Food Rescue & Donations
- Gruft: The Gruft is one of Vienna's best-known emergency shelters, offering protection, warm meals and medical care to homeless individuals. Leftover catering from events is highly appreciated and distributed directly to those in need.
- VinziRast: VinziRast supports homeless and socially disadvantaged people through housing, employment projects and social integration initiatives. Food and material donations help maintain daily operations and provide essential support to people in difficult life situations.
- VinziWerke Wien: Wiener VinziWerke support people in acute need and operate various social facilities in Vienna, including emergency shelters, a social market and additional support services. Event organisers can donate surplus food and materials, making a direct social contribution.
- Wiener Tafel: Wiener Tafel rescues surplus food and redistributes it to social organisations across the city. With the "Tafelbox", event participants can take leftover catering home, actively helping to reduce food waste. A donation of 20 cents per box goes to Tafel Österreich to support people affected by poverty.
In-Kind Donations
- Caritas: Caritas is one of Austria's largest social organisations, supporting people in need across various areas. Donated items are also used in upcycling projects, where new products are created from existing materials.
- Hilfswerk: Hilfswerk provides a wide range of social services, including care, support and family assistance. Surplus promotional materials or give-aways from events can be reused meaningfully within their programs.
- Neunerhaus: neunerhaus supports homeless and at-risk individuals by providing housing, healthcare and social services. Donations such as bedding, towels or kitchen equipment contribute directly to their day-to-day operations.
- SOS Kinderdorf: SOS-Kinderdorf supports children, young people and families in challenging circumstances. In addition to financial contributions, in-kind donations such as books, games and everyday items are highly valuable and directly benefit the families supported.
Volunteering
- Caritas: In addition to financial and in-kind donations, Caritas offers numerous volunteering opportunities. As part of an event, participants can, for example, support the sorting of donations and contribute hands-on to social initiatives.
Humanitarian Aid & Social Engagement
- Ärzte ohne Grenzen (Doctors Without Borders): This international humanitarian organisation provides medical emergency aid in crisis and conflict regions worldwide. Fundraising activities during events can make a vital contribution to financing life-saving missions.
- DEBRA Austria - Butterfly Children: DEBRA Austria supports people living with the rare skin condition Epidermolysis bullosa. Donations and awareness activities at events help fund research and improve care for those affected.
- Österreichische Nationalbibliothek: The Austrian National Library preserves the country's cultural heritage. Through book sponsorships, organisations can actively contribute to the conservation of valuable works and support cultural responsibility.
- Vollpension: Vollpension is a social business tackling old-age poverty by integrating senior citizens into the workforce. In addition to catering, they offer engaging keynote sessions that foster intergenerational exchange.
Climate Protection
