Historic Strauss venues for unforgettable meetings
HOFBURG Vienna - imperial grandeur for major events
The HOFBURG Vienna was once the venue for dazzling imperial balls at which Johann Strauss conducted the ball music. Today, the HOFBURG Vienna is one of three congress centers in the city with space for up to 4,900 guests. The historic halls, including the spacious ballroom (up to 1,210 people) or the magnificent ceremonial hall (up to 500 people), offer a unique setting for prestigious events.
House of Strauss at Casino Zögernitz - discover musical history
Johann Strauss himself used to perform at this renovated original venue, the Casino Zögernitz, which is now home to the multimedia House of Strauss Museum. The 350 m² Strauss Hall continues to be used for concerts and can be hired for exclusive events for up to 380 people. The experience is complemented by the finest Viennese cuisine in the Casino Kulinarium, prepared by star chef Stefan Glantschnig.
Palais Coburg - elegance and musical tradition
The Palais Coburg was an important location for the Strauss family. Johann Strauss' father and sons dedicated a total of 19 compositions to the members of the House of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha. A small permanent exhibition commemorates this special connection. The magnificent 120 m² Johann Strauss Concert Hall and other grand rooms offer space for meetings and events for up to 250 guests in an exclusive atmosphere. The suites and residences of Palais Coburg are currently being renovated, but the meeting rooms are available for use without restrictions.
The Sofiensaal - where Strauss left his mark on Vienna's ball tradition
In 1848, the Sofiensaal, which was originally a swimming pool, became one of the most popular ballrooms in Vienna. Famous masked balls and balls for engineers, doctors and lawyers were held here - often featuring world premieres composed by the Strauss dynasty. Today, the Sofiensaal is a stylish meeting location with state-of-the-art facilities for up to 700 people. The Foyer (130 m²) and Sofie's Salon (160 m²) are suitable for smaller events.
Parkhotel Schönbrunn - Strauss's debut
Viennese society used to hold glittering ball nights in Dommayer's Casino on the site of what is now the Parkhotel Schönbrunn. It was also the venue where Johann Strauss II made his triumphant debut as a composer and conductor in 1844. Today, the Parkhotel Schönbrunn is a stylish hotel with around 300 rooms and several function rooms. The magnificent ballroom with space for up to 469 people is particularly impressive. Schönbrunn Palace with additional event rooms is just a short walk away.
