Corporate events 2024
Corporate events are booming in 2024, with overall growth of +3%, and international corporate events increasing by 10%.
Vienna hosted 4,426 corporate events in 2024, welcoming a total of 270,372 participants (+11%) and generating 514,508 overnight stays (+32%) - once again setting new records in this segment.
Thanks to the strong growth in the international sector, corporate events in 2024 are projected to generate a GDP impact of €290 million, along with tax effects amounting to nearly €80 million. This underlines the increasing relevance of corporate events for Vienna’s meetings industry.
The GDP per participant overnight stay is €221 for national and €633 for international corporate events.
The City of Vienna (province and municipality) will receive €10 million in tax revenue from corporate events in 2024.
The GDP contribution from corporate events is equivalent to 6,314 full-time jobs.
Looking at the countries of origin of event organizers, Germany remains the strongest source market for international corporate event overnight stays (8%), followed by the USA (4%), UK (3%), and Switzerland and Canada (each at 1%).
